Job Description

Vision for the Role: The General Store Coordinator under the direction of the General Store Supervisor will assist in managing several aspects of the General Store. This includes playing a key role in the training and supervising of summer staff. The General Store Coordinator leads store shifts, helps with inventory control, interacts with multiple vendors, assists with ordering, and helps maintain the day-today functions of the Hume Lake General Store.

The Role:

Staff Oversight:
  • The coordinator supervises seasonal and part-time staff. This includes leading shifts, checking in with staff, providing training, and ensuring that store procedures and company policies are followed.
  • This individual is expected to work in a team environment and independently to meet the various demands of the store.
Guest Experience and store operations:
  • This individual is required to interact with guests face-to-face in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible and pleasant. Must have the ability to make decisions with the overall "customer experience" in mind and be able to handle customers in adverse situations if it arises while maintaining an agreeable disposition.
  • This individual is responsible for executing store procedures for the General Store. This includes floor and back-room stocking levels, cash register operations, cleaning procedures, and customer issue resolution.
  • This individual must have the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities with frequent interruptions, and can thrive during a heavy workload.
Inventory and Merchandising:
  • Responsible for receiving inventory, managing back stock, and prepping products for sale. This includes entering received and counted inventory into a point-of-sale system, communicating with the General Store supervisor about items that are out of stock or running low.
Computer Skills:
  • Has the ability to switch between computer programs and procedures efficiently and can work with online assistance or telephone instructions when troubleshooting errors or programing issues.
Cash Management:
  • Responsible for cash management of money in the stores. This includes performing turn ins, managing safe access, and minimizing theft risk from both guests and staff.
  • Promote an environment where financial stewardship is a key store priority for all staff.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to live and work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to live at high altitude and in small living quarters.
