We are seeking a skilled Construction Safety Manager to represent the General Contractor on a transit authority project in the Washington, D.C. area. This role is responsible for implementing the GC’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) practices and supporting all site safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide field safety supervision, actively monitor jobsite activities, and ensure all work is performed in accordance with EHS requirements
• Conduct regular jobsite safety audits and inspections to identify and correct hazards
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and provide basic safety training as needed
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and collaborate with site teams to implement corrective measures
• Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and near misses, and ensure follow-up actions are taken
• Enforce the correct use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures
• Maintain all required safety documentation and reports
• Support additional safety initiatives and responsibilities as required by the project

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of construction safety experience
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification required
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA standards)
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage subcontractors and crews
• CHST, CSP, or other BCSP certifications preferred but not required
