Crossroads Bible Church, founded nearly 50 years ago, is located in Bellevue, Washington, 15 minutes across Lake Washington from Seattle. Situated between the foothills of the Cascade mountains and Lake Washington and Puget Sound, Bellevue is not only a beautiful city, but it is ethnically diverse and home to the headquarters of Microsoft, Amazon, T-Mobile, REI and Starbucks.

POSITION

Crossroads Bible Church is seeking a Student Intern who is passionate to see every CBC student become a disciple who will bring Jesus to our world. This is a volunteer position designed as a development opportunity for a High School Student looking to invest more officially in Youth Ministry and be invested in by the Youth Staff. The Student Ministry Team is always thinking about supporting the vision and core values for the church at large. The purpose of this role is not only to support Youth Ministry, but also for the Student Intern to explore their role within the Kingdom as they are given more leadership opportunities and intentional discipleship from the Youth Staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the Youth Staff to create the best possible youth program for our Middle School and High School students by working on a concentrated project that will benefit the overall ministry (e.g. Bible study kits or Student Leadership structure needs)
  • Assist with weekly programming needs by leading or preparing aspects of Wednesday night youth (e.g. Leading one of the group discussions)
  • Attend all youth events and youth group nights and be a support in the planning and executing of these.
  • Bi-weekly 1-on-1 meetings with the Youth Ministry Pastor or another Youth Staff.
  • Attend all creative meetings and be a key contributor for any large event put on by the Youth Ministry Team.
  • Attend all tactical meetings and strategic meetings in Youth ministry and play a vital part in the collaborative work environment.
  • Attend Youth Staff summer book study (if interning in the summer) and participate in any team development (e.g. WIDGET, Strengths Finders test, and Spiritual Gifts assessment)
  • Attend monthly all-staff trainings, prayer meetings, and lunches.
  • Attend the main service regularly.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Education & Experience Requirements:
  • High school student (11th or 12th grade preferred).
  • 1-2 years experience serving in 612 Youth preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to lead peers in Bible study/group discussion.
  • Creative, organized, and driven.
  • Use of productivity software, email, filesharing, and online communication software for project management and scheduling.
  • Ability to work diligently on internship project; self-motivated.
Internal/External Relations Requirement
  • A track record of servant leadership, humility, and teachable in spirit.
  • Commitment to spread ownership of CBC's vision and core values to each area of ministry and involve appropriately.
Creative & Analytical Requirement
  • Strategic planning and utilization of resources and volunteers
Managerial/Leadership Responsibilities (if applicable)
  • Will help coordinate volunteers and other peer leaders for Wednesday Night youth during the summer programming
Financial Responsibilities (if applicable)
  • Assist in ensuring good stewardship and accurate spending of any budget required for student's internship project (e.g. resources needed for Bible studies). The goal of which should be to enable powerful ministry while being able to stay within budget constraints.
Physical Factors & Working Conditions / Schedule & Expected Travel
  • In office working conditions, a maximum of 16 hours per week, agreed upon schedule with supervisor.
  • Occasional short-distance drives for supplies (if applicable)
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS
  • Accountability
    • Shall be directly accountable to the Youth Ministry Coordinator
  • Staff Relationships
    • This is a volunteer position that will work in collaboration with the Youth staff and will attend select staff meetings as required
    • Collaborate with other teams for projects
  • Church Relationships
    • High-capacity volunteers such as the Student Intern should call CBC their home church, and as such, model regular attendance and involvement
POSITION DETAILS
  • Part Time, unpaid
  • Volunteer-internship; Expected duration: 6-10 weeks
  • Sunday (starting at 8 am), Monday to Thursday flexible work hours TBD with supervisor
  • Occasional Friday and Saturday work depending on events
