Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RCIS for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring BLS and ACLS certifications and at least one year of recent cath lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab
• Day shifts, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
• Patient population consists of adults requiring diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Procedures include diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operations, and electrophysiology studies
• EPIC charting system is used, prior experience preferred
• May be required to float to any CommonSpirit location within a 60-mile radius, potentially performing duties outside of original job requirements
• Assist physicians in specialized cardiovascular procedures and take an active role in acute MI interventions
• Document patient status and respond appropriately to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Actively participate in continual learning, departmental meetings, and performance improvement activities
• Troubleshoot equipment and adapt to changing patient and departmental needs
• Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary cardiac care team
• Must be able to interact with patients of varying ages and levels of consciousness
• Travelers may be assigned for up to one year before a required 30-60 day break
• RTO (requested time off) must be declared prior to consideration and cannot be requested after offer

Requirements

• Associate's degree in health science or graduate of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technology program required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required, active certifications only
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI, or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or RRT with post-primary Cardiac Interventional Radiography through ARRT required
• Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technologist Certification required if applicable
• Minimum of one year cardiac catheterization lab experience preferred
• Ability to provide on-call coverage as required
• Flu vaccination required during flu season, with medical exemptions considered; no religious exemptions allowed
• Candidates must live at least 60 miles from assignment location; local candidates not eligible
