Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Shift: Day Shift (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM)
Shift Length: 8 hours
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
The Speech-Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing environment. The clinician will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to help patients improve functional communication and overall quality of life through individualized therapy plans.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing function.
Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient needs and goals.
Provide therapy in areas such as expressive and receptive language, articulation, voice, cognitive skills, and dysphagia management.
Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in a timely and accurate manner.
Collaborate with nursing staff, physical/occupational therapists, physicians, and caregivers to ensure coordinated care.
Educate patients, families, and staff on communication strategies, swallow safety, and compensatory techniques.
Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements, facility protocols, and professional practice standards.
Participate in care planning, team meetings, and performance improvement initiatives.
Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; CFY may be considered.
Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care strongly preferred.
Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
