Responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring for potential threats, responding to emergencies, and enforcing rules and regulations.**Essential Responsibilities/Activities:*** Patrols premises, both on foot and using security vehicles, to deter and detect any unauthorized activity.* Uses various surveillance tools, such as cameras and monitoring systems, to keep an eye on activities within the facility.* Identifies suspicious behavior, potential threats, and violations of security protocols and recommends improvements to enhance security measures.* Checks identification, searches bags, and ensures that only authorized personnel enter restricted areas to prevent potential security threats.* Responds to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, and security breaches and coordinates with other agencies during critical situations.* Uses de-escalation techniques to defuse tense situations and maintain a safe environment.* Documents incidents, suspicious activities, and other relevant information in detailed reports.* Responds to alarms triggered by security systems and investigates the cause of the alarm and takes appropriate actions.* Provides customer service by assisting visitors, giving directions, and providing information about the facility's rules and regulations.* Maintains and ensures the proper functioning of security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems.* Escorts individuals off premises when necessary.**Education and Experience Requirements:** High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2+ years of previous experience preferred.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.* Strong multi-taking capabilities and organizational skills.* Works effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.* Ability to maintain confidentiality.* Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.* Ability to work with law enforcement agencies as necessary.* Basic experience in Microsoft Office products.* Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.**Work Environment:*** Ability to lift up to 50lbs.* Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods.* Requires working in seasonal hot and cold temperatures and exposure to dust and chemical fumes.**Disclaimer:** Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
