About the Role

LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our dynamic team in Miami, FL, at The University of Miami Hospital. In this high-volume, production-based environment, you will play a crucial role in clinical lab science.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM (with alternating weekends)

Your Responsibilities

As a Lab Assistant, you will:

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning properly and conduct minor maintenance
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality

What We’re Looking For

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferred
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
