About the Role:

As a Computer Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of technology professionals by delivering comprehensive and engaging instruction in computer science principles and practices. You will design and implement curriculum that covers fundamental topics such as programming, algorithms, data structures, and computer systems, ensuring students develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills. Your role involves fostering a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, while adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. You will assess student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational program and stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the field of computer science.

9th grade Intro to Computer Science, 10th grade Computer Science, Coding, and Computer Design.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license for the relevant educational level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer science concepts and programming languages.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring computer science subjects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Familiarity with multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience integrating technology and digital tools into classroom instruction.
  • Previous experience teaching in diverse or inclusive educational settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives in computer science.
  • Teach core computer science topics including programming languages, software development, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Create and grade assignments, projects, and exams to evaluate student understanding and progress.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them overcome learning challenges and achieve academic success.
  • Incorporate technology and innovative teaching tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on the latest educational practices and technological advancements.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and administrators to improve curriculum and contribute to school initiatives.
